Telkom warns against identification theft

Telkom Internet would like to advise its customers that it will never send an e-mail communication requesting customers to make available their account details, asking them to click on a hyperlink or reply to an e-mail to confirm or update their login details. Telkom Internet does not conduct business in this manner, and is committed to protecting its Internet customers against any unauthorised account access.

Customers are advised to be on high alert for any kind of e-mail claiming to be from Telkom Internet, and asking customers to provide personal details. Such mails must be deleted immediately. Failure to do so can result in bandwidth theft and abuse of mail accounts.

Our secure Online Password Management Tool, enables our customers to securely change both their Telkom Internet account passwords and their e-mail passwords on a regular basis. Customers who have released their usernames and passwords must change their passwords immediately.
